Our first featured artist for 2018 is Olivia Krimpas:
The inspiration for most of my work in 2017 was from a visit to the Serpentine Architecture Programme, Summer 2016.
There were four installations, each inspired by Queen Caroline's Temple in Kensington Gardens.
In Particular, the Summer House designed by the Architect, Yona Friedman, which was a light and airy construction made up of a series of wire circles one on top of the other.
This installation piqued my curiosity and inspired me, as I aim to express light and movement of forms in space in my printmaking.
Using the techniques of different wax grounds on steel, while working on heated plates, enabled me to have fun expressing this.
